Plug-in Solar Systems, Panels and Inverters
Plug-in solar is a small solar system - lightweight panels and a micro-inverter ending in an ordinary UK plug - for the places a rooftop system cannot serve: balconies, gardens, garden offices and workshops. Since 27 August 2026 a plug-in system that meets the Government's interim product specification can legally connect through a standard socket in Great Britain; the inverter must be no more than 800VA and 3.5A, with a BS 1363 plug and a fuse no larger than 5A.
Ravair's core product is the 720W Solar Balcony, Garden and Workshop Full System: six 120W semi-flexible panels (2.3kg each), a Hoymiles HMS-800-Pro micro-inverter with app or cloud monitoring, cables and accessories. The Complete Garden/Workshop System, the flexible panel and the Hoymiles 800W inverter are also listed on their own; prices are on each listing and change. The HMS-800-Pro is stated as registered on the UK ENA Register, and the product page refers to G98 registration within 28 days of installation.
We are a supplier, not an installer: the kit comes with installation and inverter manuals, and where electrical work is needed a qualified electrician is the right person. Read plug-in solar kits explained and the 2026 rules in full, or call 01892 750777. Free UK delivery over £200; the balcony system is advertised with a 10-year warranty, and warranty terms vary by product.
