Nail Dust Extractors: In-Desk, On-Desk and Flexible-Arm

A nail dust extractor captures filing dust at the point it is created - under the file, a few inches from the technician's face - before it reaches the breathing zone. HSE's nail bar sheet SR13 says filing dust can cause wheezing, chest tightness and asthma, and asks for local exhaust ventilation in the form of a downdraught table or a movable hood, with the client's nails over the intake.
